Applying to Be a Mission Volunteer

We will be selecting volunteers in a competitive application process. Details on applying can be found in the Apply to Volunteer section.

Volunteering for the mission is a life-changing learning experience that involves very long and challenging days, problem-solving, and an opportunity to enjoy the gift of giving. We hope you will consider joining us.

Though knowledge of Urdu or Balti would be preferred, it is not required. We find ways for volunteers of all backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of language proficiency to contribute to our goals.

Making Travel Arrangements

All volunteers will fund their own travel and lodging expenses. All travel arrangements; plane tickets etc. can be done through our suggested travel agent. In order to get the best rates it is advised to buy the tickets well ahead of time. All internal travel arrangements will be taken care off by the mission organizers.

Transportation to Skardu from Islamabad and back is by the National airline, weather permitting. Please note there are luggage limits and the planes are smaller.

Suggested Travel Agent:

Waseem Qaiser: E-mail: waseem@octravelplus.comCell: 714 709 3122

The mission organizers will make reservations at the hotels for all volunteers to keep the group together. If you want to visit other cities after the completion of the mission you will need to make prior arrangements with your travel agent.

Obtaining Visas

The mission organizers will assist all volunteers in obtaining visas through the Pakistani Consulate of Los Angeles. In order to optimize your chances you need to apply at least 6 months in advance.
